Experience needed


Key Duties:

  • Prepare technical input to the project and/or seek relevant input from Divisional and BU Corporate Actuarial teams to prepare material representing BU and Divisional interests
  • Develop a working understanding of the CA processes and systems in order to understand the challenges and opportunities and thus ensuring that an effective solution is delivered. This should include a focus on developing consistent, efficient and scalable processes
  • Seek to identify and call out to the Head of Divisional Actuarial Reporting and to Project Governance where timelines and dependencies are at risk (whether from Corporate Actuarial workstreams or otherwise)
  • Take ownership for the allocation of actions assigned to Corporate Actuarial, working with the relevant teams to ensure follow up and completion in a timely and effective manner
  • Work with the Heads of Actuarial Reporting (in Division Centre and Business Unit) and relevant project managers to develop detailed project plans to ensure Corporate Actuarial teams can deliver in a timely and effective manner against project milestones

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Actuary

Experience required:

  • Demonstrable understanding of the life insurance (or reinsurance) industry
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with software packages, such as Excel and Word
  • Experience with Actuarial projection software (MoSes desirable)
  • Understanding actuarial processes and systems and proven history of improving processes
  • Knowledge of Economic Capital, Solvency II, IFRS17 and US GAAP (preferable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across teams and geographies
  • Needs to be organised and deadline focused
