Overall Job Purpose:

To deliver the market pricing strategy to ensure that the company is at the forefront of the market resulting in achievement of volume and value objectives



  • Delivers commercial pricing strategies to improve sales and retention business performance whilst maintaining profitability levels and hitting the business plan metrics
  • Works closely with the Technical Pricing and Pricing Implementation teams
  • Build insights from their wider functions into their pricing models
  • Delivers enhancements to their pricing capability through the modelling and subsequent implementation of new rating factors and micro segmentation
  • Implements the customer lifetime value model, working closely with the Technical Pricing and Retention teams
  • Presents insight to key stakeholders in the Pricing Team
  • Builds relationships with other analysts to share best practice


Skills Required:


  • Degree in mathematical/statistics based subject
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyse problems and develop structured solutions
  • Full IT literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint



  • Member of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), with some exams passed. Or, intention to become a member
  • Exposure to actuarial and/or pricing work
  • Experience of working in a general insurance company
  • Strong ability to develop skills in new software
  • Experience of Earnix or Emblem pricing software
  • Experience and understanding of GLMs and machine learning techniques
  • SQL skills
  • R and Python coding skills
