Overview


Responsibilities:

  • Support the existing team in offering a range of actuarial services and tools to a portfolio of clients within the insurance industry
  • Able to be involved with, and potentially manage, diverse projects for a variety of clients concurrently
  • Take ultimate responsibility for actuarial projects for some clients
  • Confidently contribute to client meetings at all levels
  • Apply actuarial and statistical skills to review and project complex data-sets
  • Ensure line manager is kept fully informed of all developments in your work
  • Manage existing clients and projects whilst actively seeking and creating business development opportunities
  • Establish, maintain and develop new and existing business relationships with clients
  • Develop a network of contacts with other professionals and work providers
  • Develop internal intellectual capital and help to devise plans to take these ideas to market
  • Full awareness of the services offered by other departments in the firm and continually look for cross selling opportunities
  • Involvement with industry specific “touch points” (GIRO, working parties, steering committees, workshops, white papers, research papers, commenting in relevant publications etc.) to maintain and enhance the firm’s public reputation


 Qualifications required:

  • Qualified general insurance Actuary
  • Experience required:
  • Experience of reserving, Solvency 2 Technical Provisions and Standard Formula. IFRS 17/ Internal capital modelling/ risk management /pricing a benefit
  • Proven record of working with senior management
  • Proven planning and prioritising skills
  • People management skills (proven experience of managing a team at supervisory level)


Other Requirements:

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and willing to learn Access and SQL
  • High standard of IT literacy
  • Able to influence internal / external clients and colleagues
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong organisation, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines to multitask and work under pressure with accuracy and focus
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
  • Participate in business development and marketing initiatives
