Job description

Experience needed



  • Develop examples of an IFRS 17 balance sheet and income statement based on real-life data to better understand the practical implications of IFRS 17
  • Analyse the impact of IFRS 17 requirements on actuarial processes, IT systems and data requirements, and identify synergies with Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting
  • Analyse the Non-Life Reinsurance portfolio with respect to the applicability of the different measurement approaches defined by IFRS 17
  • Develop actuarial methods to fulfil IFRS 17 reporting requirements
  • Coordinate the implementation of actuarial processes and systems across the company
  • Support the efficient execution of IFRS 17 reporting by leveraging system and database management solutions
  • Define actuarial standards for IFRS 17



  • University degree in mathematics or a similar qualification with a strong quantitative focus



  • Experience with international accounting standards or Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting desirable
  • Practical experience in actuarial loss estimation for non-life insurance (e.g. pricing, reserving, underwriting, risk management)


Other Requirements:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an emphasis on practical application as opposed to theoretical research
  • Ability to implement individual tools using Microsoft Office VBA or the programming language R for the verification of business concepts
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative and pragmatic approaches to support the efficient execution of processes by leveraging systems and database management solutions
  • Motivated and positive attitude with a team-oriented focus
  • Very good command of spoken and written English, German preferred but not essential
