The role is a senior actuarial position, demonstrating technical expertise and management of work areas within the Capital Modelling team.

Key Duties:

  • Syndicate Capital Reviews
  • Manage a robust process for MRC’s review of syndicate capital models and resulting capital submissions
  • Syndicate validation reviews
  • Manage a robust process for MRC’s review of syndicate model validation, including expert knowledge of validation requirements
  • Syndicate major model change reviews
  • Manage a robust process for MRC’s review of syndicate major model change submissions, including expert knowledge of Solvency II requirements
  • Communications
  • Interact with external stakeholders, including managing agent capital and management teams and regulators, on processes and areas arising as part of capital oversight
  • Wider actuarial team involvement
  • As required, manage work areas within the wider actuarial team including those in relation to the Internal Model

Qualifications required:

  • Degree level
  • Qualified actuary with capital modelling experience

Experience required:

  • Experience in non-life insurance work, preferably across a range of work areas (in particular capital modelling)
  • Experience in delivering complex work output, including supervising work, and communicating this to an audience
