Whilst studying to become an actuary, you are likely to be given the opportunity to join your university's actuarial society. You will typically attend frequent meetings which you will be able to discuss how to get a start in the profession, which modules you should be taking in relation to the areas of the profession you might want to work in. You will also have exposure to actuaries from different industry sectors and be given the chance to network with them and other members of the profession.
